The park encompasses six distinct vegetation zones from tropical rainforest to permanent snow and glaciers. The unique Afro-alpine vegetation includes giant lobelias and groundsels, creating an otherworldly landscape found nowhere else on Earth.
Trekking routes range from day hikes to challenging multi-day expeditions, with opportunities to see rare wildlife including Rwenzori turaco, three-horned chameleons, and various endemic species.
