About Murchison Falls National Park
Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda's largest and oldest conservation area, covering 3,840 square kilometers of pristine wilderness. The park is bisected by the Victoria Nile, which plunges 45 meters through a narrow gorge to create the thunderous Murchison Falls - one of the world's most powerful waterfalls.
The park offers excellent game viewing with large populations of elephants, giraffes, lions, leopards, and buffaloes. The Nile provides exceptional boat safari opportunities with massive Nile crocodiles, hippos, and countless waterbirds.
Shoebill storks can be found in the Nile Delta, making this one of the best places in Africa to see these prehistoric-looking birds.
