Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrival & Preparation
Arrive at Mbale and transfer to mountain base. Equipment check and briefing. Acclimatization walk and overnight at base camp.
Day 2 - Start of Trek
Begin trek from Budadiri to Sasa River Camp. Trek through montane forest with views of the peaks.
Day 3 - Cave Exploration
Visit Kitum Cave where elephants come to mine salt. Continue trek to higher elevations through bamboo and moorland zones.
Day 4 - Summit Day
Early morning summit attempt on Mount Elgon (4,321m). Return to lower camp for overnight.
Day 5 - Return to Base
Final descent to base camp. Transfer to Mbale for departure.
